Bali 2006 - Part 4

I have stopped using Live Journal for posting our long trip reports. From now on I will post them on our sister blog: www.meckleyearth.blogspot.com. As time permits, I will move all the Live Journal reports to meckleyearth.

Just curious--why the abandonment of Live Journal? I thought it was neat that you used both Blogger and Live Journal (they each have their camps).

I abandoned Live Journal because the usability sucked even after a major improvement a few months ago. The specific problems:
1) Spell checking did not work in a reasonable way - you got some long log file, not the usual highlight and hover thing.
2) Cut and paste from MSword was "tricky" - you could easily get screwed up html unless your settings were set in some specific but unintuitive way
3) Could not easily add hit counter
4) Getting to a specific entry to edit it was circuitous - this was improved a few months ago.

The only reason we used Live Journal in the first place was that Blogger was blocked in China. Now that it is not blocked, ......

However, I'm now struggling with the NEW Blogger. It has some added new features but has introduced bugs in old features that previously worked just fine. Plus they have bungled, IMHO, the switch of my old account name to my google account. We will see.
